The first edition acknowledged the contribution of the Foundation CON IL SUD, the Donata Pizzi Collection, and the Presidency of the Sicilian Regional Assembly, as well as the precious collaboration of Foundation. The works were presented during the opening days of the ninth edition with a special talk sponsored by the Sicilian "Ordine dei Giornalisti," together with the authors, Martina Della Valle and Maria Vittoria Trovato, Caterina Boca, head of the immigration section of Caritas Italiana, Nello Scavo correspondent of 'Avvenire' and Maurilio Assenza vice president of the Val di Noto Foundation.
The initiative was launched in 2021 to help reduce social distances and raise awareness among local and national communities with a living testimony to make us participate in the lives of people in our area. At this time of significant changes, the territories must take a step forward to proceed from multicultural coexistence to intercultural coexistence. It is by creating opportunities and services that restore the migratory phenomenon to its true face and its true vocation. The images reveal inequalities and the resilience and spirit of sharing and innate celebration of life that characterizes the activities of Caritas and our supporters.
